GeoCaching
We've
been playing this game called GeoCaching. Basically
it's a high tech treasure hunt, where people hide
little boxes of treasure, the box can include just about
anything but at the very minimum it should have a log
book and pen/pencil. Most times, if the box is
big enough it will also include some trinkets (
McDonalds toys, keychains, Hot-Wheels, cards, etc) more
often than not they aren't very expensive items, 99cent
store stuff. The
location of the box is posted on Geocaching.com where
you can look up the boxes closest to you by coordinates,
zip code etc. You then use your GPSr (Global
Positioning System receiver) to locate the box, where
you then sign the log book. You then have the
option of trading an item of your own with an item
in the box. Then you go back to the Geocaching.com
web site and you log your find online so that the cache
owner knows you've been there, and knows that his cache
box has not been stolen.
The
best part of the game to me, is just getting out
and wandering around somewhere you have probably never
been, and finding a little hidden treasure. Even
better is finding a cache where hundreds of people walk
by every day and didn't even know it was there.

Click on the cache name to visit the page for that particular cache.
click on the "Log" to see our log for that cache.
